February is often a quite month on the farm. Dark days and lots of rain mean maintenance and paperwork are caught up on and other odd jobs are completed. All of the crops which are in the ground have gone into senescence or hibernation which is an essential part of the growing cycle. If they don’t do this then the yield can be seriously affected.

This is also a time for me to do courses and continue my professional development to keep me up to date with all the latest farming techniques and legislation.
