More crop protection have to be applied in May to stop fungal attacks in the warm damp conditions and the final dose of fertiliser is applied. The lambs are growing well with the ewes producing lots of milk form the fresh flush of spring grass. The curlews have returned along with swallows and other migratory birds which is always a sign that summer is just around the corner. Our spring crops are now all in the ground and looking good. All we need now is some decent sunshine the right amount of rain at the right time and for commodity prices to rise significantly so we can actually make a profit!
